No, any wood surfaces need to be thoroughly sealed so the GatorStep can adhere to a smooth, sealed surface.

We will ship any pieces of your kit requiring a paper test fit, or if no test fitment is required, our design team will begin working on your digital art proof. Once we have all the necessary approval and payment information, we will produce your custom GatorStep order.

Custom Design Process
GatorStep parts cannot exceed 43” x 79”. Parts exceeding this size will need to be split; we have existing design standards to accommodate this.
Any non-trademarked lettering or logos can be added. Logos that are trademarked will require written permission from the trademark holder.
PTF or Paper Test Fits are paper cutouts of the pieces you order. They are used to confirm your GatorStep will fit as needed.
When GatorStep discovers various inconsistencies with fit due to irregularities during the boat building process, we require test fits before a GatorStep kit can be produced.
For new DIY templates, we believe in measure twice, cut once. This allows the opportunity for you to confirm your GatorStep kit will fit as expected.
If the paper test fits do not fit or match the layout of your boat, mark corrections directly on the paper using a permanent marker, adding measurements where needed. Do not cut the paper as it makes it difficult for our designers to see your changes. Alignment lines may be included on test fits to ensure accurate pattern placement. If they don’t line up properly, mark and return with your revisions. Pictures of areas that need revisions are also helpful during this process.
If your paper test fits fit correctly, you do not need to return them. Email your fitment confirmation to [email protected] or your designated customer service representative.
An Art Proof is digital representation of your custom GatorStep order. It gives you the chance to take a final look before we move forward. We won’t start production until you’ve given us the thumbs up!
