CREATE YOUR TEMPLATE
Follow the instructions below to make a template we can use to fashion your custom GatorStep.
Remember, the more accurate and detailed your template is, the better the finished product will fit
your boat. For the best results, we recommend using our template kit Mylar or Mylar that is 300 gauge. Our max cut size is 43 x 83 inches, any larger pieces will need to be split. Please contact us if you have any questions.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Photograph each traced part before removing the mylar from your boat.
- Lay the Mylar film over the area to be templated. Trim the film to slightly larger margins than the area to be templated.
- Secure the film or paper in place with masking tape.
- (Factory Non Skid Method) Use a pen or permanent marker to trace a path that overlaps the perimeter of the rough, factory nonskid area by .25 inches on all sides. In order to create a long-lasting, watertight seal, the adhesive must bind with a smooth surface. Use a straight edge or ruler to produce a cleaner template.

- Draw an arrow on each part pointing toward the Front/Bow (See #5 on Reference Diagram).
- Identify the top of all parts and their respective locations on your boat

When you've completed your work of GatorStep art, roll it up loosely and package it as it was received, so the ends don't get damaged. Then, just mail it back with your completed template return form to your nearest regional GatorStep location. We'll follow up new templates with Paper Test Fits to ensure a perfect fit. Once paper test fits are approved, an email art proof and invoice will be sent. Once the art proof is approved and invoice paid, your order will go into production. Please see your order confirmation email for our current production lead times.
